Pentecost

Pentecost is a Jewish celebration dating back to the Mosaic law. The Passover Feaste was prophetically fulfilled with the sacrifice of Jesus. The ressurection of Jesus was the fulfulment of the Festival of Firstfruits, being the firstsfruits from the grave. Fifty days are counted out(hence pente) and the Feaste of Pentecost fulfilled in the second chapter of Acts in the coming of the promised Holy Spirit. This infilling was the sign that God also blessed the grafted-in Gentile believer(as Peter explains in Acts 11) "Well then, God has granted to the Gentiles also the repentance that leads to life." What does Pentecost mean for us as a church today? Have you had you own Pentecost? What are your signs of the Indwell of the Spirit of God promised unto all who believe? I believe God still has more for us to learn from the Feasts of the Old Testament. As we pass through the Passover consider praying over some of these mentioned chapters and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal your gifts to use for His service.
